Minister without Portfolio and Chair of the Coordination Body for Harmonisation and Monitoring of Inspection Oversight of Montenegro Milutin Butorović held a meeting with the Director of the Public Enterprise National Parks of Montenegro, Marinele Đuretić.

The meeting focused on addressing specific challenges ahead of the summer tourist season, CE Report informs via the Montenegrin government website.

During the discussions, clear priorities were defined to ensure operations comply with the law and to enhance the quality of the tourist offer.

Minister Butorović emphasized that the focus of inspection services will be on the status of temporary structures within national park zones. The goal is to bring every structure into legal frameworks, ensuring fair market competition and protecting the areas from unplanned degradation.

Special attention was given to closer cooperation between state inspections and park rangers. Improved information exchange on the ground was agreed upon to more effectively prevent illegal activities, from poaching to improper land use.

The need for a greater number of licensed tourist guides specialized in hiking and protected areas was also recognized. Efforts to educate and increase the number of guides will be a priority to provide visitors with greater safety and higher-quality interpretation of natural attractions.
