Albania, Italy hold first Intergovernmental Summit
Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Elisa Spiropali, will participate today in the first Albania–Italy Intergovernmental Summit, where the Albanian delegation is led by Prime Minister Edi Rama.
The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs announces that during the day, Spiropali will also hold a bilateral meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, CE Report quotes ATA.
This intergovernmental summit represents an important moment for consolidating bilateral cooperation in key areas such as defense and security, energy, migration, health, economic and infrastructure development, as well as preparing joint projects to advance the Albania–Italy strategic partnership.
Minister Spiropali will emphasize the importance of bilateral cooperation in the face of global security challenges and will reconfirm Albania’s commitment to advancing collaboration with Italy in the priority fields of the strategic partnership.
During today’s meeting, Minister Spiropali will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on Cybersecurity Cooperation with her counterpart Antonio Tajani.
The first meeting between the two governments will be chaired by Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Prime Minister Edi Rama. This was confirmed by the Italian government through an announcement on its official website, stating that the first Italy–Albania intergovernmental summit will take place today at 11:30.
During the summit, bilateral meetings between ministers and their counterparts are also expected. Agreements are anticipated to cover areas such as security, migration, health, energy, tourism, economy, and more.
