Albania, Netherlands to sign joint declaration on EU integration support

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Elisa Spiropali, arrived for an official visit to The Hague, Kingdom of the Netherlands.

In The Hague, Spiropali will be received by Dutch Foreign Minister David van Weel, with whom she will sign a joint declaration aimed at strengthening the partnership in the context of supporting Albania’s European integration process, CE Report quotes ATA.

Spiropali will thank the Foreign Minister for the positive recommendation his government has submitted to the Dutch Parliament regarding the opening — within November — of Cluster 5 in Albania’s EU accession negotiations.

The meeting will also focus on new opportunities for cooperation in the fields of economy, security, and academic exchange.

Later today, the minister will visit former President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, at the Detention Center of the Specialist Chambers.

Spiropali will also deliver an open lecture at The Hague University of Applied Sciences for students and academics of the European Studies Program, discussing Albania’s commitments to meeting European standards.

At the Albanian Embassy, Spiropali will meet with the network of young Albanian professionals residing in the Netherlands.
