North Macedonia’s President Joins Paris Peace Forum Leaders
President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova attended on Wednesday a dinner hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron in honour of leaders participating in the Paris Peace Forum, CE Report quotes MIA.
"Last night I attended a dinner hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron in honour of the leaders participating in the Paris Peace Forum. In a pleasant atmosphere, we held discussions aimed at strengthening global peace. Only through mutual respect and understanding can we create the conditions for progress and a more secure future for all," Siljanovska Davkova said in a Facebook post.
President Siljanovska Davkova notes that she agrees with French President Macron who, speaking at the Paris Peace Forum, pointed to the threat of distortions in information that disrupt democratic processes by creating radical narratives.
"Respect for national and cultural identity, solidarity, the rule of law and human dignity, as a fundamental objective of the EU, can only be achieved with adequate information that is not influenced by profit-based social media algorithms and fake profiles that undermine public debate and threaten democracy," Siljanovska Davkova posted on Facebook.
The Paris Peace Forum, established in 2018, is an international platform to promote good governance, global peace and multilateral cooperation.
