Brigitte Macron’s online harassment case: Daughter set to testify
The second day of hearings took place today in Paris in the trial brought by France’s First Lady, Brigitte Macron, against about ten individuals accused of online harassment, CE Report quotes ANSA.
For several years, the wife of President Emmanuel Macron has been targeted by false claims circulating online, alleging that she was a man before undergoing gender transition.
Expected to testify — at the request of the First Lady’s lawyer — is Tiphaine Auzière, Brigitte Macron’s daughter, while the First Lady herself is again absent from the proceedings.
Brigitte Macron told investigators that the online campaign questioning her gender identity had a “very strong impact” on her and her family, adding that her grandchildren had heard people say that “their grandmother is a man.”
At the end of this second day of the trial, prosecutors are expected to present their sentencing requests against the ten defendants, who include a self-proclaimed psychic and a well-known advertising executive.
