U.S. Marines begin training mission near Venezuela
A U.S. warship and a Marine Corps unit are expected to arrive in Trinidad and Tobago, a country bordering Venezuela, starting Sunday for military exercises.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Trinidad and Tobago announced in a statement, CE Report quotes ANSA.
“The USS Gravely will be in Trinidad and Tobago from October 26 to 30, docking in Port of Spain, while the U.S. Marine Corps’ 22nd Expeditionary Unit will conduct joint training with the Trinidad and Tobago Defense Force during the same period,” according to the government statement of the archipelago, whose western tip lies about ten kilometers from Venezuela.
