The name of Kimberly Guilfoyle is included in the list of 48 nominees confirmed by the Senate, officially making her the new U.S. ambassador to Greece.

The path to Kimberly Guilfoyle’s confirmation was opened after the activation of the so-called “nuclear option,” namely the change of rules by the Republican majority, which allowed nominees to be confirmed in groups, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.

According to the original plan, Ms. Guilfoyle should already have been in Greece. However, the Democrats’ discontent over the passage of the “big and beautiful bill,” as President Trump called it, led them to decide not to support the appointments process, resulting in delays.

“If the Senate had continued at the pace we maintained throughout July, there would still have been hundreds of vacant offices on the last day of President Trump’s term in 2029,” said Senate Majority Leader John Thune on Thursday.
