Greece Tops in Accessible Beaches
Greece now boasts the highest number of accessible beaches globally for people with disabilities, State Minister Akis Skertsos announced Thursday on social media, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonia
Highlighting recent improvements, Skertsos emphasized that until a few years ago, many Greeks with mobility issues were unable to enjoy the sea due to lack of infrastructure. That is now changing, he said, as the country expands access to its iconic coastlines.
Supported by the EU-funded "Greece 2.0" Recovery and Resilience Plan and implemented by the Tourism Ministry, 263 beaches across Greece are now equipped with facilities that allow people with disabilities to swim safely and independently.

“This is the Greece we want – a country with everyone, for everyone,” Skertsos said.
