Moldova is prepared to begin EU accession negotiations in September, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov announced on Moldova 1 TV.

She said Chisinau has completed the crucial technical step of screening, comparing national laws with EU legislation. "We are at the end of the screening. The European Council has confirmed Moldova is ready to open the first negotiation cluster, focused on fundamental values," Gherasimov stated, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Talks will start with the rule of law, justice, and fundamental rights. To support this, the government approved three reform roadmaps covering public administration, justice, and democratic institutions.

Gherasimov noted Moldova has unanimous support from all 27 EU member states, with recent commitments from Lithuania, Latvia, and Finland to help fight disinformation, train officials, and invest in green energy.

In light of Russia's hybrid warfare in the region, she warned of ongoing disinformation campaigns and urged citizens to rely on official sources for information.
