Türkiye–Syria Ties “Guided by Destiny”
The partnership between Türkiye and Syria is “guided by destiny,” with a shared future ahead, Syrian Economy and Industry Minister Nidal Al-Sha’ar said during a roundtable meeting in Ankara on Tuesday, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency
Attended by Turkish Trade Minister Ömer Bolat and Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, head of Türkiye’s Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges, the meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Al-Sha’ar praised Türkiye’s rapid economic growth over the past two decades, calling it “a miracle,” and emphasized that future cooperation must span all sectors — cultural, social, economic, industrial, and production.
He announced that the renewed partnership would begin with support for small and medium-sized enterprises, eventually expanding to large-scale investments. Türkiye is expected to establish production plants in Syria and export industrial goods, contributing to Syria’s reconstruction.
Referring to the 15-year break in relations due to the civil war, Al-Sha’ar said the partnership will now continue “based on mutual respect and sincerity,” and that the two nations “will be together” in rebuilding efforts.
