Democrats Urge Gaza Ceasefire

Four Democratic lawmakers have called on U.S. President Donald Trump to help end the war in Gaza by reviving peace negotiations, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

In a letter sent Friday, Representatives Gregory Meeks, Rosa DeLauro, Jim Himes, and Jamie Raskin urged Trump to use “the full weight of American diplomacy” to secure a “just and durable” end to the conflict, warning of a worsening humanitarian crisis and rising regional instability.

They said Israel’s main military goals in Gaza have been met, and continuing the war would only deepen suffering and endanger long-term peace.

The lawmakers called for a permanent ceasefire, a return to Palestinian civilian control in Gaza without Hamas, and rejection of any forced displacement plans.
