
Greece Launches Evros Relocation Plan
Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister Thanassis Kontogiorgis announced the launch of a new Demographic Development Program aimed at reversing population decline in remote regions. Eligible participants can apply via relocation.vouchers.gov.gr. The program offers up to €10,000 per household, with an additional €1,000 for each child. Funded by the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family, the scheme targets up to 1,000 new residents and has a total budget of €10 million.
Kontogiorgis emphasized that the government is focusing on housing, employment, health, and education as key pillars to revive remote communities. If successful, the program may expand to other mountainous and low-population areas.
