Erdogan Slams Israel Over Syria
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday strongly criticized Israel’s recent actions in Syria, accusing it of using the Druze population as a pretext for aggression, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency
“Israel has been using the Druze as an excuse to carry its banditry into Syria,” Erdogan said after a Cabinet meeting in Ankara, warning that those aligning with Israel are making a “major miscalculation.”
He reiterated Türkiye’s firm stance against the fragmentation of Syria, emphasizing the importance of preserving its territorial integrity and unity.
Describing Israel as a “lawless and bloodthirsty terrorist state,” Erdogan stated that a stable Syria is vital for the region’s security.
Türkiye, he added, remains committed to peace through diplomacy and will continue to monitor developments in Syria while maintaining open channels with relevant actors.
