Arizona Opens First U.S. State Trade Office in Romania
Arizona has become the first U.S. state to open an economic representative office in Romania, marking a milestone in bilateral relations. The Arizona government has allocated $125,000 in its 2026 fiscal budget to establish the office in Bucharest, recognizing Romania as a regional investment hub, CE Report quotes AGERPRES
The new Commercial Service will serve not only Romania but also Eastern Europe and the Western Balkans. “This is a strong vote of confidence in Romania’s economic potential,” said Romanian Ambassador to the U.S. Andrei Muraru, expressing hopes for deeper trade, innovation, and business ties.
Arizona’s trade offices assist local companies with export support, market research, and international business matchmaking. The decision follows years of cooperation and high-level visits, including efforts by Arizona officials, Romanian lawmakers, and business leaders.
The move is part of Arizona’s broader International Trade Plan, which also includes offices in Mexico, Israel, Germany, South Korea, and Taipei.
