Trump-Netanyahu Meet Amid Gaza Talks
US President Donald Trump is set to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Monday to discuss regional issues, including a potential ceasefire deal in Gaza, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency
Netanyahu departed Tel Aviv on Sunday for his third US visit in six months. During the trip, he is also expected to hold talks with senior administration officials and bipartisan members of Congress.
Trump previously told reporters there was a "good chance" a Gaza ceasefire and hostage release deal with Hamas could be reached this week. He also hinted at discussions involving a "permanent deal with Iran."
Netanyahu’s visit is expected to draw significant protests in Washington, with pro-Palestinian demonstrators opposing US support for Israel and condemning the ongoing war in Gaza.
Since October 2023, over 57,400 Palestinians — mostly women and children — have been killed in Gaza, according to local authorities. The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for alleged war crimes, while Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice.
