
Romania, US Celebrate Strategic Partnership in Washington
The Romanian Embassy in Washington is hosting a series of events from July 7–13 to celebrate the anniversary of the Strategic Partnership between Romania and the United States, now in its 4th consecutive year, CE Report quotes AGERPRES
“This week, we celebrate an essential pillar of Romania’s foreign policy and a symbol of our shared values,” said Ambassador Andrei Muraru.
Highlights include:

July 8: A working lunch with U.S. government and business representatives to promote economic ties.

July 10: A formal reception for "Friendship Day between Romania and the United States," with U.S. officials, diplomats, and members of Congress.

July 11: A debate at the Heritage Foundation on the future of the partnership, covering defense, trade, and regional security in the Black Sea.

July 11–13: The "Romanian Weekend at The Wharf" festival featuring folk performances, traditional crafts, and food, open to the public in downtown Washington.
Established during President Bill Clinton’s 1997 visit to Bucharest, the partnership is considered a cornerstone of Romania’s Euro-Atlantic alignment. Since 2023, July 11 has been officially recognized as "Friendship Day" by Romanian law.
