PM Recean Joins PAS Election List
Prime Minister Dorin Recean will run on the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) list in Moldova’s upcoming parliamentary elections, set for September 28, 2025. PAS leader Igor Grosu confirmed this during a television appearance on Realitatea Moldova, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES
“It’s only natural—he’s deeply involved and works under enormous pressure,” said Grosu, emphasizing Recean’s dedication and suitability for a future MP role.
Grosu also announced that he will lead the PAS list and that the full list of candidates has yet to be finalized. President Maia Sandu will play a role in shaping the list, which may include non-party members committed to Moldova’s development.
“Our goal is to present the best electoral offer, with professionals and respected public figures,” Grosu added. He noted that some current MPs would be included again, alongside new faces.
Grosu ruled out any changes to the government before the elections.
Recean, Prime Minister since February 2023, previously served as Interior Minister and presidential advisor on security. He is known for his technocratic leadership and focus on security, digitalization, and sustainable development.
The 2025 election is seen as pivotal for Moldova’s European integration and internal stability, as the country prepares to elect a new parliament in a shifting regional context.
