Szlapka to Be Government Spokesman

Politics

At a Friday press conference, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that Minister Adam Szlapka will become the new government spokesman. Tusk said Szlapka would formally take on the role starting July 1, following the conclusion of Poland's presidency of the EU Council at the end of June, CE Report quotes PAP

Szlapka, currently Minister for European Union Affairs, will retain his duties until then. He has led the Nowoczesna party—part of the ruling Civic Coalition—since 2019 and has served in parliament since 2015. In the 2023 elections, he received the third-highest vote count nationwide, trailing only Tusk and opposition leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski.
