Trump to Decide on Iran Strikes Soon
U.S. President Donald Trump will decide within two weeks whether to launch strikes on Iran, citing ongoing diplomatic efforts. "There’s a substantial chance of negotiations," a White House statement read by spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said Thursday, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency
Leavitt reiterated Trump’s long-standing position that Iran must not obtain a nuclear weapon, calling it a global threat. She claimed Iran could produce a nuclear weapon within weeks if its supreme leader approves.
The White House confirmed recent communications between U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, following Israel’s June 13 strikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites. Iran responded with missile attacks, leaving hundreds dead and injured on both sides.
European diplomats are also pushing for talks, with foreign ministers from Germany, France, and the UK set to meet Iran’s Araghchi in Geneva on Friday.
