USR Endorses Ilie Bolojan for Prime Minister

USR Chair Dominic Fritz announced Thursday that the Save Romania Union (USR) officially supports Ilie Bolojan for the position of prime minister. After a meeting with President Nicușor Dan, Fritz emphasized Bolojan’s commitment to reform and the need for strong leadership, CE Report quotes Agerpres

Fritz stated that USR is prepared to take responsibility for helping Romania recover from current crises caused by poor governance. He highlighted USR’s priorities: cutting spending, delaying certain investments, and cautiously considering tax increases only when necessary.

He also stressed the importance of meeting EU requirements to access remaining PNRR funds, noting that fiscal changes should be limited to avoid harming the economy.

Fritz expressed confidence in forming a reform-oriented government alongside Bolojan, saying the party is ready to support him with both trust and authority to implement meaningful changes.
