At the Ukraine – Southeast Europe Summit held today in Odesa, Romanian President Nicusor Dan urged regional unity and determination in defending international law, human rights, and democratic values amid ongoing geopolitical uncertainty, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Speaking alongside regional leaders, Dan emphasized that EU integration brings significant benefits, citing Romania’s own transformative experience. “We must stay steadfast in defending international law, human dignity, and democracy—values the Ukrainian people defend every day,” he said.

Addressing the war in Ukraine, Dan stressed the need to expose Russia’s tactics as “strategies of delay and sabotage of the peace process,” and called for continued support so Ukraine can negotiate from a position of strength. He reiterated support for President Zelenskyy’s peace formula based on the UN Charter.

The summit also featured a trilateral meeting between the presidents of Romania, Ukraine, and Moldova, focusing on cooperation in energy, connectivity, security, and EU integration.

The event brought together 11 leaders from Southeast Europe, signaling a united regional stance in support of Ukraine and broader European stability.
