Greece to Merge OPEKEPE with Revenue Service
The Greek government announced on Tuesday that it will abolish OPEKEPE, the agency responsible for EU farm subsidy payments, and merge it into the revenue service (AADE) by 2026. The decision follows failed internal reforms and aims to create a more transparent and farmer-friendly payment system. Legislation to enact the merger will be tabled by July. Staff will be transferred to AADE to ensure smooth integration. The government says the move will end decades of mismanagement and provide fairer access to EU agricultural funds, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian
