PM Highlights Economic Gains, Pushes Reforms

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in his weekly address, highlighted positive economic news from the European Commission’s spring forecasts and Eurostat, which show Greece’s growth outpacing the Eurozone and a 24% rise in net annual income since 2019. Despite this, Mitsotakis emphasized the government is not “celebrating or complacent,” citing challenges like inflation and tax evasion, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian

He also discussed progress in healthcare with the new “1566” helpline launching soon, the expansion of the MyHealth app, and the upcoming digital disability card. On education, he praised strong interest in Model Schools, while announcing efforts to rebuild student housing at Panteion University.

Further updates included free preschool care programs, employment initiatives, and measures to speed up judicial and land registry cases. Mitsotakis concluded with plans for regional development, Greece’s new Belharra frigate sea trials, and the achievement of two Greek teams in the Euroleague Final Four.
