Laskaridis charitable foundation, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian

Highlighting the drone’s advanced surveillance and target-tracking capabilities, Mitsotakis said the system reflects the future of modern warfare. “What may look like science fiction is now a reality in operational theatres,” he noted. The Prime Minister emphasized that such donations allow for rapid deployment and testing of cutting-edge systems before broader adoption.

He called the modernization of the Greek Armed Forces the most ambitious transformation since the founding of the modern Greek state, part of a bold "Agenda 2030" focused not just on new technology, but on a complete shift in mindset and operational approach.

Defence Minister Nikos Dendias added that the Hellenic Centre for Defence Innovation (HCDI) has already launched four UAV development programs, with two more planned by year’s end. He stressed that Greece, though small, aims to be strong and technologically advanced.

The V-BAT drones offer high autonomy, operational flexibility, and resilience in adverse conditions, all at relatively low operational costs.
