Trump Pushes Fed to Cut Rates
President Donald Trump said Tuesday he has no plans to fire Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, but urged him to be more proactive in cutting interest rates, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency
“I have no intention of firing him,” Trump said, adding he believes now is a “perfect time” to lower rates, though it’s not critical. He cited falling energy and grocery prices as reasons the Fed should act soon.
“We’d like to see our chairman be early or on time, as opposed to late,” Trump said.
