U.S. backstabs Paraguay in OAS vote - EXCLUSIVE

Politics

As the U.S. – Canada tariff War escalates, the Trump Administration has backstabbed once again the Government of Paraguay, by dropping at the last minute its support for Ambassador Rubén Darío Ramírez Lezcano and voting in favor of Surinamese Foreign Minister Albert Ramdin, US-based expert Peter M. Tase said in an interview with CE Report.

"In 1997, Ramdin has previously served as Permanent Representative of Suriname to the Organization of American States and Chaired the Permanent Council 1998. He was also the Assistant Secretary General of the Caribbean Community Secretariat, in Charge of Foreign and Community Relations. Under his leadership, the Caribbean Community has not seen any extraordinary development nor an impactful economic development. In 2001, Ramdin was adviser to the OAS Secretary General, assigned to monitor Caribbean Affairs. He was also the OAS Assistant Secretary General (2005-2010). With Ramdin at the helm of the OAS, this hemispheric entity will continue to suffer from endemic financial crisis, with a budget that is waning down while its secretariat staff is bloated and saturated with useless bureaucrats", - Tase said.

He noted, that the election of Ramdin at the helm of OAS, will increase the political divide in the western hemisphere, embolden corrupt government leaders in the Caribbean and Latin America, as well as demonstrate gross incompetency towards the fight against International Organized Crime and against Drug Trafficking.

"The OAS reputation and image will cripple as its aspires to uplift its pro-democracy mission. Secretary of State Marco Rubio owes an apology to the Government of President Santiago Peña Palacios, who has conducted five working visits to the United States, during his first 16 months as head of state. Paraguay’s immense loyalty towards Washington and historical heritage that bonds the two nations; are a vital fulcrum in today’s geopolitical recalibrations, across the hemisphere; which Secretary Marco Rubio has openly failed to recognize. While it is too late to revert any political action, it is a great obligation for Washington to immediately appoint a politically appointed Ambassador to Asuncion and issue an open letter of apology for the long-suffering people of Paraguay.

OAS’s recent history has shown that this organization is highly stubborn to reforms and cutting down on its staff, therefore the current fraudsters, liars, cheaters, globalists and deep state bureaucrats will continue to scoff at the OAS’s original mandate elaborated in its Charter of 1948", - Tase concluded.
