Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that diplomacy in ending the war with Russia can only be effective with strong frontline positions, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

"Diplomacy will only be strong with strong frontline positions. And we are doing everything to ensure that Ukraine’s frontline needs are met," Zelenskyy stated in a nightly address on Sunday.

He highlighted ongoing international support, mentioning that Poland is preparing new aid packages, while Germany is expected to expedite the delivery of IRIS-T air defense systems and ammunition. The Netherlands also expressed readiness to invest in Ukrainian weapons production, with Nordic and Baltic states reaffirming their support.

Zelenskyy noted the importance of Germany’s role as a key security pillar in Europe and the broader free world. Kyiv is also working with the EU to address supply shortages.

Regarding diplomacy, he announced upcoming talks in Saudi Arabia on Monday, where Ukraine and the U.S. will engage in discussions aimed at fostering peace and securing continued support. His meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman follows recent discussions in the Gulf country involving U.S. and Russian delegations.

Meanwhile, Washington has halted military funding and intelligence sharing with Ukraine after a heated exchange between Zelenskyy and former U.S. President Donald Trump. In response, European leaders have stepped up military aid and other initiatives to support Ukraine amid the ongoing war.
