A new round of public consultations on the creation of the Anti-Corruption and Organized Crime Prosecution Office (PACCO) took place today within the parliamentary juridical commission for appointments and immunities. Officials from the Prosecutor General’s Office, specialized prosecutor’s offices, law enforcement agencies, and civil society representatives participated, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Commission head Veronica Rosca stated that participants shared their views on the legislative proposal and provided recommendations for finalizing the draft law. "This initiative is essential to combating corruption and organized crime. We must find a mutually agreed-upon approach," Rosca emphasized.

Previous consultations and working meetings on the proposal have taken place, with input from state institutions and civil society. The draft law, initiated following a Supreme Security Council decision on January 20, 2025, was adopted in the first reading and is now being finalized before submission for final parliamentary approval.
