Greek Parliament to Hold Fourth Round of Presidential Election

The Greek Parliament will hold the fourth round of voting for the new President of the Hellenic Republic on Wednesday, ahead of the expiration of Katerina Sakellaropoulou’s term on March 13, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian

Voting begins at 10:00, with a candidate needing at least 151 MPs' support to be elected. The ruling New Democracy candidate, former Parliament President Constantine Tassoulas, had already surpassed this threshold in previous rounds.

If an absolute majority is not reached, a fifth and final vote will take place in five days, where a relative majority will determine the next President.
