The national strategy for addressing internet addiction among minors will be presented on December 30. Key tools discussed include the parco.gov.gr website, offering parental control guidance, and the Kids Wallet app, which enables age verification for young users.
The meeting emphasized the role of parents and education in mitigating the negative effects of excessive social media use. It also explored Greece's potential initiatives at the European level, including a proposed Digital Rights Charter to safeguard minors' rights across the EU.
Several ministers participated, including Education Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis, Social Cohesion Minister Sophia Zaharaki, and Digital Governance Minister Dimitris Papastergiou.
