Greek PM Mitsotakis Warns North Macedonia on Compliance with Prespa Agreement:

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has issued a stern warning to the new leadership of North Macedonia, emphasizing that their path to the European Union will remain blocked if they fail to fully comply with the Prespa Agreement. Speaking to residents of Veria, Mitsotakis made it clear that the Greek government would not ratify the remaining Memoranda of Cooperation unless there is absolute compliance with the agreement.

Mitsotakis reiterated that while New Democracy had serious reservations about the Prespa Agreement, it must be respected once ratified. He urged for strict adherence to the agreement, without any deviations. The Prime Minister also called for stability and continuity in the upcoming European elections, encouraging votes for New Democracy and reaffirming his commitment to completing his term until 2027.

Addressing accusations from ultra-nationalist and religious factions, Mitsotakis condemned the exploitation of patriotism and faith for political gain. He also highlighted his commitment to honest and respectful political dialogue, rejecting the toxicity and polarization that have marred recent political discourse in Greece. Mitsotakis called for a mature and responsible approach to politics, free from fake news and personal attacks.
