No such notion as VIP fugitive, no prison privileges for anyone, justice minister says

Justice Minister Alina Gorghiu asserts that there is no such notion as "VIP fugitive" for the Romanian state, and prison conditions are the same all over Romania. CE Report quoting Agerpres

Razvan Doseanu, the lawyer of fugitive ex-mayor Catalin Chereches who is currently being held in Germany, declared on Thursday for a television channel that the Romanian authorities have sent all the documents requested by the German court in the extradition procedure, and that Chereches was allegedly promised privileged detention conditions, i.e. roomy cells that comply with European standards, and which he will have to share with only two fellow inmates.
