Poland Evacuates Citizens from Israel and Iran
Polish Defence Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz announced that 65 Polish citizens evacuated from Israel via Jordan have arrived safely in Poland. The evacuation was carried out by the Polish Armed Forces and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with a Polish Air Force B-737 flying the evacuees from Amman, assisted by military personnel stationed in Jordan, CE Report quotes PAP
Deputy Foreign Minister Henryka Moscicka-Dendys, present at the airport, said another evacuation operation may be organized soon, as several dozen people remain willing to leave Israel.
Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski confirmed a total of 251 Poles have returned from Israel and Iran. Earlier this week, 154 evacuees from Israel arrived in Warsaw, traveling via Egypt and Azerbaijan, followed by 13 citizens evacuated from Iran.
The evacuations come amid escalating conflict following Israel’s large-scale air strikes on Iran’s nuclear and military sites on June 13, which triggered Iranian missile and drone retaliations against Israel.
