EU announces aid to protect independent media in Bosnia
European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos announced EU funding of €7 million for media outlets and civil society organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
She stressed that independent media and civil society are the backbone of democracy, CE Report quotes FENA.
According to Kos, attempts to silence them weaken society.
She warned that such actions open the door to autocracy.
