Jennifer Lawrence reveals why she lost Tarantino role
Actress Jennifer Lawrence may have starred in major film franchises such as The Hunger Games and X-Men, but she has lost at least one important film role because of her appearance, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
The Oscar-winning actress claims she was not chosen to appear in Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 drama Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood because people said she was “not beautiful enough.”
Speaking on the live podcast Happy Sad Confused with Josh Horowitz, released on Monday, Lawrence discussed the list of directors she would like to work with.
“Tarantino is chasing you. He wants you,” Horowitz told Lawrence, pointing at her.
“I don’t know about that,” the actress replied.
“It’s true. No, he said it,” Horowitz insisted. “The Hateful Eight. Jennifer Jason Leigh’s role was originally written for you, I believe.”
“I turned it down, which I shouldn’t have,” Lawrence interjected, before both laughed.
In 2015, Tarantino told Entertainment Weekly that he was a “big fan of Jennifer Lawrence” and had asked her to play the role of the fugitive Daisy Domergue in the 2015 mystery thriller The Hateful Eight, but Lawrence was too busy with “all the publicity around The Hunger Games films.”
