The latest feature film by director Tudor Giurgiu, 3 Days in September, has been selected for the Limelight section of the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR), 55th edition, which will take place from January 29 to February 8, 2026, according to a statement from Transilvaniafilm.

With an average of 275,000 spectators and more than 2,000 film industry professionals from over 100 countries, IFFR is one of the most important film festivals in the world, recognized both for its scale and its artistic relevance, CE Report quotes AGERPRES.

The festival’s Limelight section brings together award-winning films, box-office successes, or preview titles by established auteurs. In 2026, it will include productions such as Father Mother Sister Brother by Jim Jarmusch, No Other Choice by Park Chan-wook, Dead Man’s Wire by Gus Van Sant, Silent Friend by Ildikó Enyedi, L’étranger by François Ozon, as well as the Romanian film 3 Days in September. The selection confirms the international visibility of Romanian cinema and places Tudor Giurgiu’s new project alongside some of the most important titles in contemporary filmmaking, within one of the world’s most influential film festivals.

3 Days in September is an explosive romantic comedy that captures a woman’s unpredictable journey toward freedom and self-discovery. It was filmed in September in Eforie Sud during the Arome Film Creative Camp and stands out for its ambitious cinematic approach: a 65-minute single take filmed without interruption in the garden of Hotel Arome 22, on the streets and on the beach of Eforie Sud, by a crew of more than 70 people. The choice to film in one continuous shot places the audience directly inside the heroine’s emotional spiral, intensifying the chaos and encouraging a much more intimate connection with the characters, events, and states she encounters along her journey, the statement notes.

As reported by CE Report, the main cast includes Andreea Vasile, Emilian Oprea, Conrad Mericoffer, Mirela Zeța, Emilia Popescu, Adela Popescu, and Maria Junghietu.

3 Days in September is an independent production, made as a co-production by Point Film, StaySharp.Film, Libra Films, and Arome 22.

In Romania, the film will be distributed by Transilvania Film and will premiere on September 18, 2026.
