George Clooney adds another recognition to his long list: he will be awarded the 51st Chaplin Award.

This is a prestigious film prize that honors actors and directors who have contributed exceptionally to the art of cinema, CE Report quotes ANSA.

Film at Lincoln Center, the organization that established the award in 1972 to honor its first recipient, Charlie Chaplin, announced it. The awards ceremony will take place on April 27, 2026.

Clooney is one of Hollywood’s most influential figures and is admired worldwide for his versatility—he is an actor, director, and producer, as well as someone deeply engaged in humanitarian work.

“It was a true pleasure to have George Clooney at the 63rd edition of the New York Film Festival last September for the premiere of ‘Jey Kelly’,” said Daniel Battsek, president of FLC, in a statement, “and we are honored to invite him again to celebrate such a wide-ranging professional life. From acting to producing and directing, George brings unique mastery and intelligence, as well as a social conscience, to everything he does. He continues to inspire audiences and artists around the world.”

Last year, the award was given to Pedro Almodóvar.
