The Sibiu Contemporary Art Festival (SCAF) in Romania opened its doors on Thursday, at the Ursuline Monastery, with works by over 150 artists from over 20 countries, making it 'the most important contemporary art festival in South-Eastern Europe', said the Marketing Director of the Brukenthal National Museum, Alexandru Constantin Chituta, CE Report quotes AGERPRES.

'The theme of this edition is resilience, an edition that this year brings together over 150 artists from over 20 countries in Sibiu. SCAF is one of the youngest festivals in Sibiu, it is the most important contemporary art festival in South-Eastern Europe and the most important diplomatic cultural festival in South-Eastern Europe, for which I thank the ambassadors, I thank the Ministers of Culture of Romania and the Republic of Moldova and I thank with friendship and respect the Mayor Astrid Fodor, who saved this edition. When there are no funds, the Sibiu City Hall finds them', said Alexandru Constantin Chituta.

Now in its sixth edition, SCAF brings together over 150 artists from Romania, the Republic of Moldova, Belgium, Germany, Hungary, the United States of America, Poland, Italy, Lithuania or Mexico.

SCAF is running until October 5, in four spaces in the city of Sibiu: the Brukenthal Museum of Contemporary Art, the Brukenthal Palace - the temporary exhibition halls, the Ursuline Monastery and the Promenade Mall Sibiu.

Visiting hours are Wednesday to Sunday, between 10:00 and 18:00.
