
Lurë’s Historic Church Sh’Mraja Draws Visitors After Restoration
The Feast of Sh’Mraja is becoming a cherished annual tradition in the calendar of events held in Lurë, CE Report quotes ATA.
The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, took part in the celebration, joining locals and visitors who gathered for the occasion in Lurë.
In a post on social media, Balluku stated that this is a celebration that brings everyone together, proudly showcasing the rich traditions and culture of the region.
“The village church, named Sh’Mraja, is another treasure not only of Lurë. It was a pleasure to return and visit it again,” Balluku said.
The Church of Saint Mary, which houses the ruins of a 630-year-old church, is considered a local treasure. Recently restored, the church has also become a tourist destination for those visiting Lurë.
Sh’Mraja is a celebration that unites locals and visitors alike in a festive atmosphere, filled with traditional music and regional costumes, honoring the cultural heritage of the area.
