After selling out all tickets for her August 11 concert at Madison Square Garden, Katy Perry addressed critics who claimed she wouldn’t be able to do it, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

“They said, ‘No way! MSG can’t be done,’” Katy told the crowd of 19,500 fans. “And I was scared too.”

According to E! News, she described New York’s energy: “It was late, there were drunk people, couples making out... and I loved it.” Katy said the city represents life in all its forms—highs, lows, the average, chaos, and beauty—emphasizing that one of her favorite words is authenticity.

Throughout her tour, Katy hasn’t hesitated to respond to critics, denying online rumors that labeled her as the “most hated person” and pushing back against those who doubted her dancing skills.

She also thanked fans for their support following her breakup with Orlando Bloom: “Thank you for always being there for me. It means so much.”
