Dalai Lama Confirms Successor Will Be Named After His Passing
The Dalai Lama has confirmed that upon his death, a successor will be appointed to ensure the continuity of his role as the spiritual leader of the Tibetan community, CE Report quotes ANSA.
This was stated in a declaration released on the occasion of his 90th birthday.
"I affirm that the institution of the Dalai Lama will be perpetuated," he said in a message read at the McLeod Ganj monastery in northern India, where he has lived in exile since leaving Chinese-controlled Tibet in 1959.
