The 32nd Sibiu International Theatre Festival (FITS) begins this Friday, bringing together over 5,000 artists from 82 countries for 841 performances across ten days, CE Report quotes Agerpres

Sibiu will transform into a massive open-air stage with parades, fire shows, live music, aerial dances, and interactive art installations. Highlights include France's Transe Express performing “Ymir’s Dream” with a towering 12-metre figure and a 60-metre spiral suspended from a 200-tonne crane in the city’s Main Square.

In other locations, visitors will experience recycled art from Catalonia’s Tombs Creatius, immersive Spanish installations, and vibrant street performances including samba, African stilt dancers, and musical parades.

Multimedia drone shows will open and close the festival in Theatre Square, while venues like Sub Arini Park and Habermann Square will feature flamenco, circus acts, and acrobatics.

International stars such as Bill Murray, Kathleen Turner, Kuranosuke Sasaki, and Alexandru Tomescu will appear alongside leading Romanian performers and student troupes.

The 2025 theme, “THANK YOU,” celebrates connection and artistic generosity. The full schedule is available on the free FITS app, with real-time updates shared via social media and the festival newsletter.
