British singer Harry Styles' 12 shows at Wembley in June - a record for consecutive shows at the London stadium - are expected to generate more than £1 billion in revenue, according to research by Barclays.

Fans "expect to spend an average of £981" (€1,128) each, "including tickets, travel, accommodation and clothing", the bank said in a statement, estimating total revenue at £1.06 billion (€1.22 billion), CE Report quotes AGERPRES.

That figure is similar to the economic impact the bank estimated two years ago for Taylor Swift's 15 UK dates on her "Eras Tour" and the 17 UK dates of Oasis' reunion tour last year.

Discovered at the age of 16 on the X-Factor show, Harry Styles began his solo career after the breakup of One Direction in 2016.

The 32-year-old singer, who launched his 'Together, Together' tour (seven cities and 67 scheduled concerts) in Amsterdam on Saturday, has established himself as one of the world's biggest pop stars through his stage presence and the embodiment of a new masculinity, notes AFP.

'Harry Styles', his first album in 2017, followed by 'Fine Line' and the hit 'Watermelon Sugar' (2019), enjoyed great commercial success.

According to the survey conducted by Barclays, his fans allocated the largest part of their budget for the concert ticket, which cost an average of more than 143 pounds, before accommodation (141 pounds) or transport (103 pounds).

"Harry Styles' Wembley residency should provide a significant boost to London" and "also highlights the growing consumer enthusiasm for memorable experiences" rather than consumer goods, said Rich Robinson, head of hotels and entertainment at Barclays, quoted in the statement.
