A gouache by Picasso depicting his muse and artist Dora Maar will be offered to the public through a lottery, aiming to raise €12 million for Alzheimer’s research.

Anyone who buys a ticket for €100 will have a chance to win a Picasso painting valued at €1 million, CE Report quotes ATA.

A total of 120,000 tickets have been on sale since Tuesday.

The lottery will take place at Christie’s auction house in Paris on April 14 next year.

The artwork — a gouache on paper dating from 1941, titled “Head of a Woman” — comes from the Opera Gallery collection.

It was long held by the Picasso family, later became part of a private collection, and was previously on the market in New York and later in Zurich.

The funds will go to the Alzheimer Research Foundation to support their research programs in France and abroad.
