
EU alcohol brands demand tariff exemption to save jobs
US tariffs of 15% on EU alcoholic beverages could cause nearly $2 billion in losses to the sector and put 25,000 jobs at risk in the United States, CE Report quotes ANSA.
This warning was issued by 57 wine and spirits industry groups in a letter addressed to Donald Trump, published by the Toasts Not Tariffs Coalition.
Representatives from the entire supply chain—producers, importers, distributors, retailers, and restaurateurs—representing major European brands like Campari, Pernod Ricard, and Diageo, are requesting an exemption for wine and spirits and an agreement to ensure fair and reciprocal trade.
