
Türkiye Highlights Development Road’s Economic Impact
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Friday that Türkiye aims to turn its geopolitical position into a regional economic advantage through the Development Road Project, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency
Speaking at the Global Transport Connectivity Forum in Istanbul, Erdogan noted that cargo arriving at Iraq’s Faw Port will be able to reach Europe via Türkiye. The project is expected to generate over $50 billion in economic output and create around 63,000 jobs annually over the next decade.
Amid rising regional tensions, including those near the Strait of Hormuz, Erdogan emphasized the importance of secure trade routes.
He also highlighted the Middle Corridor’s potential, estimating it could support $114 billion in production and create 144,000 jobs annually once railway infrastructure is fully implemented.
