Developed by the Democritus University of Thrace in collaboration with Greek companies, DUTHSat-2 marks a major milestone for Greek space research. Weighing 7 kg, the CubeSat was released into orbit 510 km above Earth and will soon begin its operational phase.
Digital Governance Minister Dimitris Papastergiou highlighted the achievement, calling it "the first satellite with a Greek flag in space" and a model of successful collaboration between academia and industry.
Over the next six months, the satellite will undergo tests for Earth observation and secure telecommunications technologies.
