
Kozloduy Unit 5 Restarts
Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant's Unit 5 was reconnected to Bulgaria’s national grid on June 11 following the completion of scheduled annual maintenance. The restart came after an inspection and positive assessment by the Nuclear Regulatory Agency, CE Report quotes BTA
The outage, which began on May 5, included all planned maintenance tasks and safety upgrades. As part of the work, fresh RWFA fuel assemblies from Westinghouse were loaded into the reactor—marking a key step in the plant’s fuel diversification programme. The plant confirmed reliable operation after the first refuelling with the new fuel type.
