
100 Million Euros for School Upgrades in Greece
On Friday, a second contract for the “Marietta Giannakou” School Building Renovation Programme was signed by key Greek ministers and the Hellenic Union of Banks, which is funding the project. With 100 million euros allocated, the plan covers 426 schools in 245 municipalities and 13 regions, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian
Upgrades include accessible restrooms, ramp repairs, new paint, and courtyard improvements such as sports courts and playgrounds. Funded by Greece’s major banks, renovations start on June 15 and aim to finish before the new school year in September. The total investment in the programme now surpasses 400 million euros.
