China Urges End to US Tariffs

Business

China responded to the US Court of International Trade's decision to block former President Donald Trump’s global tariffs by stating that “protectionism harms all and is ultimately unpopular.”

At a news conference in Beijing on Thursday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning emphasized that "tariff wars and trade wars have no winners."

The court ruled Wednesday that Trump exceeded his authority by imposing the sweeping tariffs, according to media reports, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

China’s Commerce Ministry spokeswoman He Yongqian also criticized the tariffs, saying they disrupted international trade and harmed businesses and consumers. She urged the US to “heed the rational voices of the international community and completely abolish the wrong practice of unilaterally imposing tariffs.”
